Gene Aguilar Magaña is an interdisciplinary artist working in Chino, CA. Their work reconsiders alternative possibilities of water and agricultural land modifications using earthenware, 3D modeling, video documentations and sculptural installations. Through their research of hydroponic systems to grow food, their current focus is on regeneration of native plants through modular earthenware irrigation sculptures. They are interested in collaborating with local plant nurseries and art spaces to make space for creating more accessibility to the ceramic medium and ceramic watering technology through in person workshops.
