Richard Faribanks was an important, yet overlooked, American ceramic artist. Dedicated to his art and his teaching, he called himself a “loner” and kept a low-profile within the academic network of American university ceramics programs. He was a member of few groups and rarely gave workshop demonstrations. Although he had a wide range of friends, he generally kept to himself, content to live and work near the area where he grew up in central Washington State.
