Amy Kline was born in Plattsburgh, New York in 1968. She began her studies in ceramics at a young age in Camden, Maine. In 1985 Amy attended Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan where she began her studies in ceramics. Amy studied Ceramics with Val Cushing at Alfred University and received a BFA in Ceramics in 1990. She continued her education at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale and received an MFA in Sculpture. In 1995 Amy moved to Las Vegas, NV where she worked as a welder and taught ceramics at the College of Southern Nevada. Amy built Pottery West in 2002 and began throwing porcelain when she met Tom Coleman. Amy continues to reside in Las Vegas, NV. She is holding classes and workshops at Pottery West, raising her son and continuing to develop her work in porcelain.
