Mark was born in Redding Connecticut but lived and worked most of his life in Los Angeles.
He has studied sculpture and video at Otis Parson and graduated with a BFA Class of 1987.
Upon arriving in Los Angeles he formed LA Artstream out of his artist studio, where he developed, produce, directed and edited video interviews and documentaries of local artists poets, writers, filmmakers and other creative luminaries in the Los Angeles community.
Mark was always involved in the community. He expanded his studio and created the Downtown Artist Space for many years. A space that gave local artists, artisans and musicians a communal workspace, where artists can come and share tools and skills.
His involvement in the community did not stop there: he was on the board of the LA River Arts and Business Association and Art Share LA, and he is currently on the board of the American Museum of Ceramic Art and the DEW Foundation.
