This is a beginning sculpture class for students that are interested in learning to sculpt in clay. Projects will include the techniques of copying of a favorite animal from a 2D picture to a 3D sculpture. ssion. The instructor will do a demonstration of the technique and how it relates to the project assignment. Come prepared with your sketchbook and pictures of the animals you want to sculpt from multiple angles (animals’ variety and background environment or other small animal projects will be added as time permits). A basic glazing class will be taught half way through this class session. Please come to class inspired, ready for new insights, prepared for lots of practice and a positive attitude!
Mandatory clean up the last week of class.

COST INCLUDES: One 25lb bag of House stoneware clay, instruction, studio membership, and AMOCA museum membership for the length of the class. There is NO OUTSIDE CLAY ALLOWED. Students are responsible for purchasing clay through the studio's store. Clay cost includes: firing fees, wax, studio stains, and cone 10 glazes.

Instructor: Nohad Sabbagh
Nohad is an award winning and published sculptress that has worked in many materials such as paper, clay, wax, marble, plaster and bronze. She has worked for big corporations such as Mattel Toys, Disney, and Knott’s Berry Farm. Her work is on display in places such as the Ronald Reagan Library and the Vatican.
