Scouts can get their hands dirty and earn a badge at AMOCA’s Scouts Day!

This program was developed to help troops, dens, and packs to reach individual badge requirements in art and pottery. Participants learn about the technical, historical, scientific, and aesthetic aspects of ceramics. Come as a group, or sign up as an individual! At the conclusion of the workshop, scouts will qualify to receive their merit badges. This event is fun for scouts in grades 1 – 12!

Free admission for two chaperones per group is included, this does not include the clay activity. Additional chaperones may join the group for the $7.00 admission fee at the door, clay activities are reserved for scouts only. AMOCA patches are available for purchase for $4.00 at the AMOCA Store.

Day 1 – March 17, 2018
Museum admission with a field guide and docent-led tour. Make a ceramic work of art during a professional artist-led studio session. Scounts Day will also include a studio tour and artist demonstration on the wheel. Three sessions are available, space is limited.

Glaze Day 2 –April 7, 2018
Glazing workshop Approximately 1 hour
12:00 – 3:00 PM (Register in advance for your 1-hour time slot during Scout Day)
If you can not return for glaze day, please arrange to have another member if your group glaze tour work.

Pick-up Saturday, April 28, 2018 – May 26, 2018
Approximately two weeks from glaze day. Participants have 4 weeks after glazing to pick up their work during museum business hours. Scout projects will no longer be available for pick up after June 30, 2018.

Space is limited, we suggest registering your entire party at the same time so that we can accommodate you as a group.
